We will miss you Sue!

(Charlottetown) – Sue Urquhart, the Executive Director of the Atlantic Presenters Association has announced that she is leaving the organization at the end of July to accept a position with “PEI 2014”.

Tim Yerxa, the association’s President, praised Urquhart for her leadership in developing the region’s capacity to deliver artistic and cultural experiences to Atlantic Canadians in their communities.

“In 2005, Sue came to the APA to serve as its founding Executive Director. Since then, what she has accomplished has been nothing short of incredible. Our membership, along with programmes and services provided to it, has grown immensely.” says Yerxa. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for Sue and we wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter in her professional career.”

During her tenure, the Atlantic Presenters Association has to grown to over 100 member organizations that operate performing arts series, venues, and festivals. The association provides various programs and services aimed at increasing communities’ capacity to develop audiences, attracting high calibre performing artists and companies, and connecting to the field nationally and internationally. Its flagship program “Contact East” is a major annual performing arts conference aimed at connecting artists and presenters. The 2012 edition takes place in Fredericton, NB this September.

In the coming weeks, the association’s board of directors will be launching a search for its next Executive Director.
