Words from our new Executive Director

October 17, 2012 | The APA is pleased to welcome new Executive Director Laurie Gillis who officially assumed her new role on Monday, October 15.

Here are some words from Laurie:

"I am thrilled to be working with such a nationally respected and vibrant organization. APA and Contact East are leaders in the country and an example to our peers and I am up to the challenge of keeping us on that trajectory. I look forward to connecting with the membership and working with the Board of Directors to continue to move the organization and the presenting sector forward in the region.

I have a passion for developing the arts & culture industry in Atlantic Canada. For those of you who don’t know me, I have worked with organizations such as, the Atlantic Presenters Association, East Coast Music Association, the Culture & Ceremonies Division at the 2011 Canada Games and her most recent role is as the Executive Director of Debut Atlantic. I have been fortunate to play a pivotal role in the creation and development of a variety of regional performing arts events and have helped to bring Atlantic Canadian arts to international acclaim."
