Words from our new Executive Director
October 17, 2012 | The APA is pleased to welcome new Executive Director Laurie Gillis who officially assumed her new role on Monday, October 15.
Here are some words from Laurie:
"I am thrilled to be working with such a nationally respected and vibrant organization. APA and Contact East are leaders in the country and an example to our peers and I am up to the challenge of keeping us on that trajectory. I look forward to connecting with the membership and working with the Board of Directors to continue to move the organization and the presenting sector forward in the region.
I have a passion for developing the arts & culture industry in Atlantic Canada. For those of you who donít know me, I have worked with organizations such as, the Atlantic Presenters Association, East Coast Music Association, the Culture & Ceremonies Division at the 2011 Canada Games and her most recent role is as the Executive Director of Debut Atlantic. I have been fortunate to play a pivotal role in the creation and development of a variety of regional performing arts events and have helped to bring Atlantic Canadian arts to international acclaim."
On behalf of the APA board, staff and membership, we wish you well in your new position!
